Helping Homeless Youth Since 2011
Each day, young adults walk through our doors, powerless, broken and afraid.
Some have been abused, trafficked, rejected, kicked out, or fleeing a gang; some have aged out of foster care with nowhere to go. They are broken, sad, depleted and scared about what tomorrow will bring.
Sleeping in tents, stairwells, rooftops or couches, they are feeling cast aside and unworthy of a better life.
They may have burnt bridges or run out of second chances, or turned to drugs to numb the pain.
But we believe their future can be better than their past.
And walking through our door for the first time is hard; it takes courage. But they soon come to know that at Mobile Hope, their value as people is not determined by the mistakes they’ve made. That they deserve to be accepted and loved, even if they aren’t perfect. They are treated with respect, love and dignity, regardless of ability, IQ, skin color or religion. They begin to learn that we expect from them…because we believe in them. That we are real, and they can be too.
When our kids have a safe place to lay their head, change begins to happen.
Old patterns give way to new. Cycles are broken. Lives are restored; healing begins. These young people begin to move from a place of darkness to a place of hope.
Progress is not always a straight line. But with love, guidance and patience, these young people rise out of homelessness and into the life they deserve.
