BuildingFutures
Find It
Working with staff and mentors, our kids will research and assist with our next vintage Airstream trailer purchase.
Move It
Youth will work with staff to arrange pick up and towing to Mobile Hope.
Gut It
Sweat equity starts here! Ripping out the old, making space for the new.
Build
Youth will work with a team of skilled craftsman, tradesman, apprentices, and peers to design and renovate the trailer interior.
Live
Youth will live in the Airstream Community, with access to resources and close proximity to job opportunities. Developing life skills in our non-judgemental environment will be an ongoing focus.
Lead
Youth will live in the community for 12-18 months as they develop the life skills needed to emerge as a leader within our small community, then graduate to achieve full self-sufficiency.
Transforming Airstream Trailers into Emergency Shelter
Follow along as we work with our team of staff, volunteers, and the youth we serve to transform a 1976 Airstream into emergency shelter for homeless youth. Thanks to a generous grant from Microsoft, homeless and at-risk youth are not only designing and building emergency shelter, they are building skills to support their journey to self-sufficiency.
